The family was waiting for me right in front of the house. The dusty long road allowed to see people coming from a distance. After presenting a gift to the mother of the two teenage kids, almost like a job interview, we immediately chatted about my origins, my religious believes and family background. They wanted to ask mostly about my agricultural background, school degrees and work. Outside of agriculture seemed unknown and of minor importance to them. The earth is rich and provides for the whole community. Hard work provides good income, which mean basic existence without electricity and comfort. My parents had a small garden with an apple tree, so I replied that I have grown up under an apple tree! A wave of friendliness in the form of relieved smiles was a great reply. I didn’t want to disappoint them. I wanted to be a good company and grateful guest! The father waved me over to assist the dinner preparations as more friends arrive. He saw my camera and asked me if I wanted to take pictures. Sure, I said. I take pictures for eternity. We all laughed .
